                                                       The Fallen Limb
                            A limb has fallen from the family tree
                       I keep hearing a voice that says ,"Grieve not for me.
                       Remember the best times, the laughter, the song.
                          The good life I lived while I was strong.
                          continue my heritage , I'm counting on you.
                        Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through.
                                     My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest.
                               Remembering all, how I truly was blessed.
                                    Continue traditions, no matter how small.   
                           Go on with your life, don't worry about falls I miss
                          all dearly, so keep up your chin. until the day comes
                           we're together  again.  Always remember things are 
                                       going to be all right.

I was asked to share a special memory of Mark. I never expected to find myself smiling reflecting on childhood memories. So many, crazy, off the wall and warm thoughts… Bone hunting with mom and auntie, hunting, fishing, swimming, the 75 blue bellies and twenty five water snakes that got loose in the house… and oh yes the, the hanging tree thing… guys thanks! Still traumatized. But all those memories included us four kids who go to spend 2 weeks in Sacramento and 2 on the ranch in Santa Rosa. Finally I came to just a “Mark memory”. Both my brother and Mark  loved muscle cars. Speed noise… it’s all in one package. Mark built his “Green Machine!” I believe it was a candy apple green Ford pickup body with a Chevy engine. Anyway, to me it was awful loud, it’d rattle your teeth. But it was impressive!! A young man's dream. For several years he’d drive this beautiful truck to Santa Rosa to hang out with my brother. They’d get together to hunt, fish and listen to Lead Zeppelin. (Probably race too! “Don’t tell mom”). And every year that he drove that truck to our house, our two hunting dogs, Katie and Brandy could hear that truck roaring somewhere way down on Petaluma Hill Road. It was as if sirens were set off in the house. “It was time to go hunting.”They couldn’t wait to greet Mark at the door. It was always fun.


Mark, you and your family welcomed and helped us from the very first day our family met.     You left us too soon to be in a better place and for that we can’t be mad, but just saddened a bunch. We love you and your family and will be there for anything they need.  RIP Mark. 

Dear Mark, 
I will miss you immensely. You were a great loving and caring husband and father and son. I loved hearing all your stories of you and your hunting adventures with your cousin Andy. Also I remember how professional the pictures that you would take of Tiger and Snowball just by using your phone you would get the right angles. Your baby Tiger misses you and Snowball too they both look lost without you. I remember when you had your hand balled into a fist and Snowball or Tiger will put they're paw on your fist and you will open it up and there was cat food. They would eat it from your palm. Another memory I have of you is that each day around maybe six o' clock in the afternoon you would be on the phone with your mom not a lot of son's do that but you were always there for her. I wish I could have seen you one last time this year. The last time I saw your beautiful smile was two days before Christmas last year. I'm so glad I got to meet you and know you more. Thank you for being there for me and for being kind to me. I will miss seeing that bright smile and those hugs when I would come visit and when I would have to leave home.  Until we meet again Mark.

   I never got to say thank you for taking care of me like I was one of your kids. You were the best dad I ever had. You helped me when I need help with school or even when I was looking for work. You even went to my  graduation that's what dads do and you did that for me. So many great memories when we went camping and I loved watching clean the fish you guys cought that day. So Thank you Mark for always being there and I'll never forget about you. I love and miss you

Dear to who it may concern my name is Charles I am sorry for the loss of ur father and husband I did not know him very well if you need anything  pls let me know 

I met Mark after he had been injured.  He was always working when I stopped by before.   When I did drop by to visit,  Mark would always share a lovely smile and then his ever-present cat would lift its head as if to say Hi!  

Occasionally Mark and I would discuss a current event.   We saw eye to eye about most things.  That made having a chat with Mark very nice.   When we started talking about fishing or his beautiful cats he became very talkative.  That's the memory I shall carry with me of Mark Ensley.

His passing has left a very large hole in the fabric of our lives.   

Mark was good friend to know when  I went  over there to hang out  with  Amanda  thats how I knew  Mark 

I wasn't blessed enough to know Uncle Mark well. But he was sure fun to talk to and be around. Most of our interactions were limited to Christmas Eve dinners at Sizzlers, but they are memories I will always remember with fondness. You will be missed Uncle Mark by family, by friends, by those of us who barely got a chance to know you and by people who's lives you made a difference in. Rest in peace.

I didn’t know Mark very well just to wave at when i came to pick up Amanda and visited Judy from time to time but from all the things i heard from Amanda and Judy i know he was a great provider and good husband and father.
My condolences to the family i know he will be greatly missed.

When I was younger we use to go fishing out on the boat. I'll always remember the time my pole went flying into the lake and Uncle Mark had to stop me from jumping in after it. Or the time we got dart guns for Christmas and ended up landing a dart in his coffee, all Uncle Mark could say was "strange things fly around this house". I spent a lot of summers with uncle Mark and the family at their house and they were all good memories.

Mark Ensley, you came in to my life as a stranger and became a step Dad in September  of1983, when I was 8 years old. I am thankful for you being in my life because growing up you have cared for me just like your son. You are Dad that every child would want especially us boys. You taught us how to fish, hunt, fight, play chess, work on cars, work hard, and play hard. Growing up,  I enjoying spending time with you and seeing how happy you made mom.
We have all kinds of stories to remember you by, like: how I like riding in the back of your red Ford truck as you had us climbing those step hills, fishing in the rushing creek and I fell in and you got me out before  I was wash down stream, late night playing pool with you ( but I could never beat you, lol), Playing chess ( you got me thinking I could win and you pulled a fast one and beat me), going out shooting guns,  these are just a few and there so many more. 

Dad, life took you way to soon. We all are going to miss you. We know one day we will see you again and when we do I give you a big hug and tell you my life stories as I been away for a while. Boy do I have some stories to tell you. 

Thank you again for being not just a step Dad but a Dad. You will be missed by some many people but we will hold all the memories close to our hearts knowing one day we will see you soon.

Mark, you were a devoted husband and father. You were also "Papa Mark" to my kids. Your presence will forever and definitely be missed daily. You meant so much to so many in this world. Mark was a devoted father, husband and Community Leader.  His leadership and contributions in the area of Education will be a legacy that lives on through Riverbank Unified School District and Riverbank Language Academy.  His selfless service to the students of Riverbank is something that today's Community Leaders should take note of.  People with Mark's character and leadership ability are the kind of people that make the world a better place.  Mark will be dearly missed.  I am thankful for the opportunity to have known him and work with him on behalf of the students in the Riverbank Community.

Marh  was a brother not a cousin I'll miss you all the times we shared and the trouble  we got into will never be forgotten. Love you and will all miss you v8

I have known mark for 7 to 8 years because I'm friends with his daughter Amanda ensley he was such a great person and very nice 

Hey dad I will always remember the times going dove hunting and being by your side. I'm  so grateful to have you as my dad and all the good times and memories we had together.I always loved being by your side and spending quality time with you.I always loved going deer hunting with you and learning all the different things about deer signs and showing me what to watch for and showing me places deer will be.I will always remember you dad no matter what  I love you more then anything in the world your the greatest father ever. Now that your my guardian angel and watching over all of us dad I miss you so much I love you.
