Marilyn Ann Holland was born on Christmas day, 1943 at the U.S. army hospital in Moultrie, Georgia to Willie and Lillian (Black) Holland. She was the second of their five children, Pat, Ann, Pam, Jeff, and Voni. When her Father was transferred to Europe to serve in the war effort. Her Mother took her two little girls and established a home in Russellville, Arkansas. Ann started school at the little red schoolhouse in 1947. Their home in Russellville had no electricity, lights, running water or indoor plumbing. You might say they were pioneers. The family welcomed a third sister named Pam while in Russellville. Work was scarce and her parents decided to move to California to take care of their little growing family. They settled for a few years in Ceres, California and in 1952 moved to their home on Pearl Street in Modesto, California. Ann attended Fremont Elementary, Roosevelt Junior High, and Thomas Downey High School. 1952 brought the family into the 6th & G streets Assemblies of God Church. Church became the center of their lives. Ann became a member of the thriving youth group and soon had acquired many friends. It was here she met the young man she would marry in 1964, Kenneth Leroy Clevenger would become her husband for life. God blessed their union with two beautiful daughters Tammera Leanne Miano and Mandy Clevenger They were delighted in them.
In 2003 Ann's life was almost lost when she was struck by a massive stroke. The following years she and her family struggled to overcome the limitations this illness would put on them all. The past 20 years her husband has been her constant loving care giver. She has been preceded in death by her father and mother Willie and Lillian Holland and brother-in-law Ed Andrade. Ann Went home to her final rest on April 17, 2023, in Stockton, Ca. She is survived by her husband of 58 years Leroy Clevenger, daughters Tammera Miano (Perry), Mandy Clevenger, Granddaughters Laura Bates (Sean), Kayla Miano, Grandson Michael Miano, great granddaughter Lillian Wery. Three Sisters Pat Hamilton (Don), Pam Andrade, LaVonda (Voni) Lassiter (Roger), brother Jeff Holland (Tina), brother-in-law Ron Clevenger, thirty-eight nieces and nephews all who loved her dearly. She was a treasured blessing, to her family and will be missed greatly.
A funeral service for Marilyn will be held Friday, April 28, 2023 at 10:00 am at Lakewood Funeral Home in the Heritage Chapel, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service at Lakewood Memorial Park - South Hyland Garden, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326.
