Lynne Marie Ashby

Lynne Marie Carver Ashby was born in Modesto to Harold and Helen Carver. She grew up on the "ranch" in east Modesto and moved into town in her adolescent years to the college area. She attended Downey High School where she met her future husband Jim Ashby. She married while still in high school and graduated in the Class of 1957. One year later she had the first of four children: Denalee (Richard) Housden, Denise (Keith) Powell, Diana (Joey) Vargas, and Jimmy (Janet) Ashby. All four children were one year apart.

She was a devoted homemaker and mother. Her priority was always her family and keeping a clean house.

In the early years Jim and Lynne raised and showed St. Bernard dogs. There were many years spent at the lake with friends and later in life they traveled in their RV and went on cruises. As their family expanded they spent a lot of quality time with their 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren whom they adored.

Lynne died on November 6, 2023 from dementia. She was 83. She will be greatly missed but we find comfort in knowing she has been reunited with our dad, Jim. The family would like to thank Brenda's Place in Escalon for the wonderful care they provided to our mother and the support they gave to our family.
