Lou Kathryn Layne

Lou Kathryn was born in Purcell, Oklahoma to Marvin & Alta Alice Hamby on August 26, 1929. She entered into eternal rest on September 25, 2018 in Turlock. She was married to her beloved husband, Elder Elvin Eugene Layne for 70 years. She was a devoted pastors wife for all those years. She enjoyed family trips, Church meetings, and loved to go to the ocean.

Lou Kathryn is survived by her husband Elvin and their four children & families – Son Danny (Marlys) Layne of Turlock, Son Alan (Lynne) Layne of Clovis, Daughter Kathy Thurman of Hughson, and Son David (Shelley)Layne of Tracy, as well as her sister Velma Mincy of Divide, Colorado. She also leaves her 10 loving Grand children and 15 Great Grand children, as well as many family and friends. Preceding her in death are her parents, her sister Marie Plumley, and her Great Grandson Layne.

A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Saturday, October 6, at 10 am at the Harmony Primitive Baptist church, 7200 5th & Locust St., Hughson, Ca. Viewing is planned from 9am to 10 am before the service, at the church. Burial will follow at Lakewood Cemetery in Hughson.
