Lorna L. Howard

Lorna Lee Howard went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 30, 2011 in Oroville California. She was born on March 3, 1927 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Virgil and Rose Campbell. Lorna has been a Modesto resident for many years where she lived with her husband Leland Vaughn Howard. She enjoyed many things from traveling, sewing, quilting, reading, taking walks and riding the bus with her girlfriends to go have a little fun gambling. Lorna loved the game aggravation and above all she was faithful about attending Sunday church. She was a member for 45 years at the Church of Christ in Empire, California.

Lorna is survived by her son, Lane Vance Howard and Cheryl Lynn Turner, step-son, Larry Vernon Howard and family, sister Joyce Peters, brothers; Tony Campbell and Carl Campbell. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Sherry Holden-Tillema and Steve Tillema, Mark William Holden and Desire Cervantes-Holden, Deanna Janeane Darner and Richard Hebenstreich, Anna Marie Howard, Juliette Marie Zermeno and Julio Zermeno, Atom Mark Garcia and Audree Mendez, Lane Vee Howard and Brittany Howard. Lorna is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Misty Dawn Monize and Tony Monize, Laticia Orene Darner and Ben Marlett, Noah Alexander Mann, Elijah Jordan Cardona, Andrew Steven Cardona, Ella Mae Holden, Sofia Marie Zermeno, Adan Nikolas-Mark Zermeno. Also, one great-great-granddaughter, Zoey Lynn Monize. And numerous nephews, nieces and friends. Lorna was preceded in death by her husband, Leland Vaughn Howard, son, William (Bill) Holden, parents, Virgil and Rose Campbell, sister, Maureen Goforth, brothers; Elmo Campbell, Elmer Campbell, Junior Campbell and Von Campbell, as well as her step-daughter, Linda Darner. Lorna will be greatly missed by all her family and friends today, tomorrow and always.

Funeral Services will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home in Hughson, Ca. Visitation on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012 from

5-8:00pm. Chapel service, in the Riverside chapel, on Friday, Jan. 13, 2012 at 10:00am.
