Loretta Martin (Bramlett) passed away peacefully at Memorial Hospital on January 17th, 2018 in Modesto at the age of 79. Loretta is survived by her husband of 64 years, Homer Martin, Jr., sister-in-law RaNae Bramlett, daughter Kathy Franca (Reynold), son Paul Martin (Angie), grandsons Andrew Franca (Haley), Brad Franca (Melissa), Kyle Martin and Wade Martin, and great-grandkids Carter and Brenna Franca along with baby Jerome arriving in May. She is preceded in death by her mother MaeDean Bramlett, her father Eulas Bramlett, and her brother Robert Bramlett.
Loretta was born on March 12, 1938 in Fresno. She met the love of her life, Homer, and they soon married, raising their children in Hughson before settling in Ceres. Loretta was employed at Knudsen’s Creamery until its Modesto plant closed and later worked at the SOS Club in Modesto.
Loretta will always be remembered for her sweet smile and her loving and generous nature. She never met a stranger. Loretta loved plants and flowers and spent many happy days tending her garden. She was an avid gamer, playing many hours of Bingo, Pinochle, Scrabble, and Cribbage with family and friends, and her home was the centerpiece of numerous family gatherings. She was a spoiler of her grandkids and showed her love and support in all of their pursuits. Loretta loved her family immensely and shared a special relationship with her children. She will be dearly missed by Paul and Kathy and all of those who were lucky enough to know her.
A viewing is set from 6-8 PM on Sunday, January 28th at Lakewood Funeral Home’s Heritage Chapel. Her funeral will be held on Monday, January 29th at 1 PM at the same location.
