Linda Rae Bergstrom

Linda Rae Bergstrom August 12, 1948 - February 22, 2017 Linda was born in Astoria, OR to Al & Helen Sorkki. She attended Astoria High School & Pacific Lutheran University. During college summer break she started dating the love of her life, Bob, whom she married in Jan. 1968. They moved to Seattle, WA where she had her son & daughter. Soon moving to Hillsboro, OR and in 1980 took on a new life adventure in Modesto, CA. Linda was employed by Farmers & Merchants Bank for over 25 years before retiring in 2004. Linda was a people person who loved her family, friends, and serving her community. She was a member of Modesto Goodtimers RV Club and a Charter Member of Modesto Sunset Lions Club. At the Elks, she enjoyed her monthly Birthday Club lunches with the gals and club meetings where she met and loved so many people. Her & Bob hosted amazing campouts in Gilroy which made the weekend such a fun time for all. With her cute decorations, fun games, and raffle prizes, she made sure that their campout was one you wouldn't want to miss. As a Lion, Linda loved to attend club meetings, make raffle prizes for meetings and fundraisers, donate her time, and give her money to help out someone that she would never meet. Linda loved her sports. Whether it was baseball, football, or NASCAR it was all fun and entertaining in her eyes. Her most prized posession was her family. She made sure that every birthday, holiday, or famiy event was fun and enjoyable. She spent counless hours prepping for her parties from assembling her raffles, making her yummy meatballs and ice cream jello to whatever her family wanted. And, there just wouldn't be Christmas without her "Christmas Cookies". Linda is survived by her husband Bob of 49 years. Children Brian (Kelli) and Jennifer (Kevin). Grandchildren Jessica (Eric), Samantha (Jeff), Cody (Elsa), Ryan (Taylor), Kyle, and great granddaughter Emma. Surrounded by her family, Linda passed away on Wednesday February 22, 2017 at the age of 68. Memorial Service to be held at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Avenue, Hughson, CA on Friday March 3, 2017 at 10:00am. Reception following.
