Laura Ellen Chipponeri, age 90, of Lodi, California, passed away Monday, October 18, 2021. She was a resident and patient at Vienna Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Laura was born in Wewoka, Oklahoma, to parents Delbert & Mildred Fine. To escape the 1930’s high plains Dust Bowl, her family relocated to CA’s San Joaquin Valley. Laura and her late spouse of 50 years, Jim, were longtime residents of Ceres & established farmers, who also owned & operated a successful hay trucking business, in Stanislaus County. Laura is preceded in death by her spouse Jim Chipponeri, son Jim Chipponeri, brother Delbert and sister-in-law Louise. She is survived by three daughters Lucinda Chipponeri and son-in-law Jim Lawrence, Jennifer Chipponeri, and Matia Chipponeri Wheeler and partner Kevin Johns; daughter-in-law Patricia Chipponeri; and six grandchildren. Laura enjoyed dancing, playing cards, RV road trips, visiting Sierra Nevada Mountains, and painting scenic pictures and ceramic decorations. Funeral and committal services are scheduled October 30, 11 am, at Lakewood Funeral Home and Memorial Park, Hughson, CA. In lieu of flowers, family and friends are encouraged to donate to local food banks or animal rescue organizations of their choice.
