this man was my grandpa who died feb 14 2019  he was also in the navy as a chief petty oficer.

I worked for Larry in the late 70's in Bermuda.  The Best boss anyone could ever ask for.  I am so sorry for your loss.  He was a great Man

I knew Larry though my daughter & Son in law, Larry Jr. 
Mr. Kilgore was a great man! With a big heart.  He always made me feel at home by inviting me to lunch at Jenny’s after a great game with our granddaughter and grandson! 
 He enjoyed watching all his grandkids play sports, 🏈⚾️🏀🥎⚽️  he will be missed by so many.  RIP  

Grandpa Larry pushed me to be the woman I am today. Easily one of the most important influencers in my life. I remember during car rides or breakfast at Jenny’s, he’d say, “spell receive.” I’d say, “r-e-c-e-i-v-e.” Then he’d ask me to spell deceive and I would have the hardest time spelling the word. I would always look forward to calling him after a softball game or for an outstanding exam grade. We would talk for hours. Grandpa Larry had a glow about him. By far my favorite person.

Uncle Larry was always positive no matter what. He had the best disposition and attitude of any man I've ever seen. He was also always civil and nice to me even when I didn't deserve that consideration.  I love you Uncle Larry. God truly has gained another Angel.

Larry  my big brother my hero. I think it was about 1952, mommy and daddy were grocery shopping and Larry was babysitting us .There was six of us then Danny about 5 months old.  He put us all down for a nap in the loft which was where all the kids slept as it was a 3 room house. We were not going to sleep and he was on his last nerve when we started yelling about a fire in the loft. He wasn't buying it until he saw the flames shooting from the chimney . He jumped into action like a seasoned fireman. He got  all of us kids out of the house wrapped in blankets as it was cold and inches of snow on the ground. After getting us safely away from the house he ran to the neighbors to get help. Our house burned down that day but we all escaped without even one burn. He went on through his life being a hero to others , forever my hero Larry I will miss our talks love you.  Danny, Becky, Mike Nancy Sally  and me survived that fire that day.

Larry was a hero all his life. In the winter I think of 1952 our parents were out buying groceries. Larry was babysitting all of us.There was six of us at the time .Danny was around five months at that time. He put us down for a nap which was in the loft of the house,,i think it was 3 room house and we kids all slept there. Larry was on his last nerve because we wouldn't settle down. We was telling him there was fire shooting from the chimney, we 'd already used a lot of excuses on him,he wasn't buying it until he saw the flames. With the ability that a fireman would have he jumped into action. He got all of us out of the burning house to safety wrapped in blankets then ran to neighbors to call for help. He saved our lives  that day and was then and many times later a hero. Others can tell their stories of his heroism  but that day it was six lives and his own. I love you Larry and always will.

I'll never forget looking for him in the stands at my softball games. He was my biggest fan and one of the most positive influences in my life.
