Kenneth was born in Modesto on December 13, 1937; one of seven children born to Velma E. and William E. Kenyon.
Kenneth was known as “Buddy” to his family and friends. He was raised in Modesto and attended both Modesto High and Downey High and graduated in 1955. Kenneth married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Leiter and they had four children. Soon after marrying, Bud started working as an auto painter for Ray Starn and remained there for approximately 13 years. In 1980 Buddy moved to San Rafael and began his career as a maintenance engineer for Marin General Hospital. In 1999 he retired and moved back to Modesto to be near his family. Buddy had a passion for collecting antiques and was also as avid hunter and fisherman. He especially looked forward to his yearly hunting trips with his best friend Joe Traina.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents and four sisters. He is survived by his sister, Betty Smithcamp, brother, Bobby Kenyon, children: Kaye Reiff, Eric Kenyon, Mark Kenyon and Karen (Danny) Downey. He also leaves behind his beloved 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. They were the greatest joy of his life and their “Papa Bud” will be dearly missed.
A Memorial Service will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe Ave. Hughson, Ca. in the Riverside Chapel, on Friday, Nov. 13th at 11:00am. As a family we would like to extend our most heartfelt thank you to all of our friends for their amazing love, support, thoughts and prayers; we also ask that in lieu of flowers please make a donation in Bud’s memory to your favorite charity.
