Kenneth R. Bennett, 90, of Turlock CA passed away August 22, 2010 in Turlock CA. He was born May 27, 1920 in Liberty, Kansas to John and Ella Bennett. He was a meat cutter and produce manager for D'Accardo's Market (Riverbank, CA), East Mart IGA (Booneville, AR), and CV's IGA (Mansfield, AR) for over 50 years. He spent 4 years in the shipyards in Vallejo, CA during WWII. He moved to California with his family in 1936 and graduated Oakdale High School, Oakdale CA. He then moved to Arkansas in 1968. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, family and music. He was a member of Living Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Ft. Smith, AR and returned to California in 2009 and attended First Southern Baptist Church of Denair. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 45 years, Ruby Bennett; one son, Rodney Bennett; grandson, Rodney Bennett Jr.; and one great-grandson, Logan Denley.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathy DiBona of Turlock, CA; Paula Tipton of Mountainburg, AR; three sons, Mike Glenn of Ft. Smith, AR; Rick Glenn of Covington, GA; Kenny Glenn of Booneville AR; one sister Donna Talbert of Riverbank, CA; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will at 2:00PM Saturday, August 28, 2010 at First Southern Baptist Church of Denair; 4528 N, Gratton Rd. Denair, CA. A second memorial service will be held at a later date in Booneville, AR. Family will share refreshments with friends immediately following the service. Arrangements under the direction of Lakewood Funeral Home, Hughson, CA.
