Kenneth Roger Barrick, 87, passed peacefully December 3, 2021 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House. He was born August 20, 1935 in Modesto, Ca to Eldon Martin Barrick and Mary Alice (Inman) Loughmiller.
Ken lived a full, exciting life where he supported, encouraged, and guided his friends and family any chance he had. He started working on a dairy when just a child; left high school and enlisted in the United States Navy serving his country in the Vietnam war. He spent time raising and training poodles, building and racing motorcycles, fishing, cutting trees for friends with orchards, repairing bikes for neighborhood children with spare parts that he kept around in the garage.
He worked for 37 years for Storer Transportation as a school bus mechanic. As they became a part of his family, he worked his way to shop foreman and as a staple in the company. It is there that he met the love of his life Mary Ann Barrick. They married January 10, 1976 in Reno, Nevada and were married for thirty years before her death October 22, 2006.
Their marriage resulted in Ken having two step children Mark Mcmasters and Joy Perez, four grandchildren Colter and Brycen Mcmasters, and Mary (Turner) Ribeiro and Rudy Perez, and two great-grandchildren Madisyn and Aydon Ribeiro; who all survived him.
He stated no longer than two months before his passing that he wanted to live to see his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. His family was his life purpose. He was unfailing in dedication to his family and friends. He was there as an ear to listen, a hard lesson to learn, or to provide a hand when in need. He was tough but, dependable. He has touched those who knew him and his memory will live on in them.
Services will be held at Lakewood Cemetery, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326; viewing December 17th 5pm-9pm and ceremony December 19th 3pm with repast after.
