Joyce Ann Francis Setaro

Joyce Setaro passed away Saturday April 30th at Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with leukemia. Joyce was born to the late Durward "Hop" and Fern Francis November 4th, 1933 in Cabool, Missouri. She has resided in Modesto since 1958. During her 39-year career as an Executive Secretary, she spent 17 years with Shell Development and her final 10 years with The California State University, Stanislaus prior to retiring in December, 1996. She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Leonard Setaro, her son Steve (Frannie) Lay, Ripon, CA, step-son Donald Setaro, Modesto, CA, step-daughter Jayne Setaro, San Diego, CA, brother Dave (Catherine) Francis, Visalia, CA and her beloved dog Nikki. Her passions in life were her family, gardening and tracing her family genealogy. She possessed incredible strength and courage, yet her sweet kindness and caring touched all that knew her. A graveside service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park on Monday, May 9th at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to a favorite charity.
