John enjoyed working with his hands especially outdoors, attending church gatherings, family events and celebrations. John loved his family dearly and had an unwavering faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus. John anticipated his heavenly home for many years, and he is enjoying that reality today and forevermore.
John is preceded in death by wife Ellen Burkett, granddaughter Ashley Sutter, and great-grandson Maximus Sutter Hodges. He is survived by Gary Burkett (Meranda), David Burkett, Larry Burkett, Deborah P. Casey, Karen Phillips Sutter, Beth Brown, Matthew Phillips, 9 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
A visitation for John will be held Friday, December 29, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lakewood Funeral Home, located at 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, California. A graveside service will occur promptly after the visitation, as well as Veteran Honors in memory of John's service to our country.
