Jeanette Mary Stearns

Jeanette Mary Stearns went Home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015 at the age of 72; born in Modesto, CA on Jan. 2, 1943 to George and Geneva Zimmerman. Jeanette grew up in Waterford, CA. she attended Oakdale High School and was a graduate in the class of 1960. She then attended MJC and met the love of her life, David Stearns. Jeanette and David were married on Sept. 18, 1967. They raised a family of 4 children and were involved in many activities. Jeanette loved being a part of all her children's activities; girl scout leader, PTA, Empire baseball and family camping trips. Jeanette also loved being a youth leader at Calvary Temple; she loved shopping and spoiling her grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, David Stearns, children: Sheri Knopf, Debbie Stearns, Cristy Stearns, Carol Stearns, Steve Stearns, Travis Mejia and Lalo Ruiz, 19 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. She was a proud foster Mom for more than 95 children. Jeanette is preceded in death by her son Scotty Stearns, her parents and her sisters: Annette Bouzek and Georgette Johnston.

Funeral services will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home, visitation on Thursday, Jan. 15th from 4-8:00pm. Chapel service Friday, Jan. 16th at 1:00pm.

Jeanette "Non" will be in our hearts forever and never forgotten.
