Janice came to Ceres, California with her family in 1939. She attended Ceres schools and graduated from Ceres High School, class of 1948, where she was a drum majorette. During high school she worked at the Ceres Theater on 4th St., in the box office. Janice met and married Francis "Gus" Ingwerson in 1949. They settled in their home on Thomas Avenue in Ceres, where they remained for the rest of their lives. Following in her mother's footsteps, Janice went to work at Ceres Drug Store and was employed there for 15 years. Upon retirement, she and Gus enjoyed seeing the United States traveling with their fifth wheel, visiting many friends and family along the way. Janice was loved by many and known as "Mom" to a number of her children's friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Leila Sanders, brother, Bill Metcalf and her loving husband of 49 years, Gus Ingwerson. Janice is survived by her sister, Linda Morrison of Ceres, her children, Amron L. Schumacher of Circle Pines, MN, Gregory E. Ingwerson, Sherri L. Thornburg (Lester), Eric E. Ingwerson (Carol) and Malrie J. Fry (John) all of Ceres, son in-law Richard J. Schumacher, 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, with one on the way, and many nieces and nephews.
