She was raised in Mountain View California by Ron and Kathy Thorpe and her childhood was shared with her younger brother: George Sotelo Jr. In the early 90’s, Georgia met and married Avery Arneil Jackson Sr. and moved to Ceres California. From this union came five children: James Edward Jackson, Avery Arneil Jackson Jr, Deja Monique Jackson Rodriguez, Jadah Nicole Jackson Caballero, and her step-son Elijah Dominick Jackson.
After separation, Georgia met and later married John A. Thompson of Stockton California. From this union came her niece Mya Lynn Sotelo and her children Amber La Shay Thompson, Kimora Antoinette Jackson, Emilee Vivian Thompson, Adrian Adam Thompson, and Benne G. Thompson. From this union, she was also blessed with her step-daughters Tayler David Thompson and Kennedy Royce Thompson.
Georgia, or “Momma G”, whole-heartedly believed that it was “all about the kids” and modeled that through her actions as she dedicated her life to not only her own children, but to all of the children of the greater Stanislaus area. If there was a need to be met, it didn’t matter if it was 3PM or 3AM, she’d be there. Armed with a heart for community and a passion for helping and feeding others, she spent her days volunteering for numerous different youth and community organizations.
She constantly encouraged others to seek and do better for themselves and those they loved. Anybody who has ever had the privilege to be in Georgia’s orbit, was better for it. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grand-mother, friend and inspiration to us all and will be dearly missed.
On January 19, 2023, at the age of 50, Georgia passed away in her home in Ceres California. She is predeceased by her grandmother Imgene Sharron, her father George Sotelo Sr., her Mother-in-law Shirley Ann Jackson, and her Grand Mother-in-law Bessie Lee Tucker. Georgia is survived by those she considered her world: Her Mother and Step-father Ron & Kathy Thorpe; her Husband John A. Thompson, her children James Edward Jackson, Avery Arneil Jackson Jr, Deja Monique Jackson Rodriguez, Jadah Nicole Jackson Caballero, Amber La Shay Thompson, Kimora Antoinette Jackson, Emilee Vivian Thompson, Adrian Adam Thompson, and Benne G. Thompson; her step-children Elijah Dominick Jackson, Tayler David Thompson, and Kennedy Royce Thompson; her Grandson, Trenton Jackson; her Sons-in-law Garron Patrick Rodriguez and Isaiah Caballero, her brother George Sotelo Jr; her nieces, Maicey Rose Sotelo, Mya Lynn Sotelo, her nephew Myles Avery Sotelo and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nephews, Nieces, and Cousins.
