Earline Rose Rigmaiden, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed on to glory on October 31, 2011 after a brief illness. She was 84 years old. Earline was preceded in death by her parents, Esther and Earl Johnson, brothers Ernest Miller, Crawford Johnson, and sister Lois Johnson Gaines. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Charles Rigmaiden and children Paul (Shari) Rigmaiden of Modesto, CA; Kenneth (Kenya) Rigmaiden of Gambrills, MD; Susan Rigmaiden of Newark, CA; and Stephen (Maria) Rigmaiden of Livermore, CA. Earline was very close to her husband Charles' siblings Golden McMillon, William Rigmaiden, Soney Rigmaiden, Richard Rigmaiden, Antoine Rigmaiden, and Thomas Rigmaiden. She shared particularly strong sisterly bonds with Helen Rigmaiden Miles, Selina Rigmaiden Lee, and Mary Rigmaiden Marrizette. Grandma Earl reveled in the company of her grandchildren Mahndisa (Thomas) Davis of Modesto, CA; Nonameko (Cameron) McClure of Atlanta, GA; Rashida Rigmaiden of Pasadena, MD; Stephen Rigmaiden of Fremont, CA; Kenyatta Rigmaiden of Klamath Falls, OR; Charles Rigmaiden of Laurel, MD; Jessica Rigmaiden of Newark, CA; and Thobeka Rigmaiden of San Jose, CA. She also leaves behind six great-grandchildren, Stevie Rose Rigmaiden, Treyton Anthony Rigmaiden, Zahra Rigmaiden-McClure, Enabran Ra Rigmaiden-Davis, Knight SePhir Rigmaiden, and Layla Denise Rigmaiden. Earline had many other relatives and friends who were all touched by her friendly demeanor and level headed approach to the issues that affect all of us in our daily lives. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family gratefully acknowledges the special care provided by the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family humbly requests that memorial contributions in Earline’s honor be directed to either the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
