Doris Ellen Nicholson

Doris (Dody) Ellen Nicholson passed away Monday, November 27, 2023, in her home at the age of 74. She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Anderson, her son, Bill Nicholson, four grandsons, Anthony Nicholson, Michael Anderson Jr., Jared Nicholson, Adam Nicholson, and seven great grandchildren, along with her siblings Tom Rogers, Sue Capps, Mark Rogers, Roy Rogers, Barbara Alanis, Nancy Brummer, Paula Adams, Katrina Southworth, and Jeff Clark. The oldest of 12 children, Doris was born in Kansas to John (Jack) and Norene Rogers. She moved to California with her family in 1964 and met her future husband, Maxie. They were married in 1967. Over the years she worked for Tri Valley, Gloria Marshals, the California Department of Corrections, and was also a Care Giver. Dody enjoyed camping, baking, sewing, and loved spending time with her family and working in her garden. Her children will always remember her as a loving and supportive mother and grandmother who encouraged them to pursue their goals.

A funeral service for Doris will be held Monday, December 11, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lakewood Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326.
