Donald Glenn Pearce—better known to friends and family as “Glenn”—passed away peacefully on October 18, 2019, in Modesto, California, at the age of 60. Born on October 21, 1958, in McAlister, Oklahoma, to Margaret Ellen and Norman Glenn Pearce, Glenn moved with his mother and brother—Ronnie—to Salida, California, in 1966 to pursue a better life with more opportunities. Once there, Glenn attended Beyer High School. At age 20, Glenn and his family moved to Tenaya Drive in Modesto, where he spent most of his life. Glenn was a proud employee of the Campbell Soup Company in Modesto for several years but was always a free spirit at heart. He later moved to Vegas, where he enjoyed working and maintaining slot machines. While he never had a concrete plan for his life, Glenn loved his family, and it was this affection that ultimately brought him back to Modesto a few short years later. In 1998, Glenn was blessed with twins: Allisun Sue and Noah Austin. Though he always remained true to his free-spirited lifestyle, he stayed in Modesto to raise his kids with the help of his mother. His love for his children and the rest of his family kept him close to home as he took on odd jobs to help support Allisun and Noah. His children fondly dubbed him with the nickname, “Old Man,” and it soon became a loving endearment used by all his nieces and nephews, as well. Glenn had a passion for cars that lasted his entire life. He enjoyed attending local car shows with his kids and working on hotrods whenever he found the spare time. His friends always knew they could count on him to help repair a broken-down vehicle or rebuild a classic car from the ground up. He never missed an opportunity to get grease on his hands. When all the hard work was done, and the long hours were over, Glenn was always there as his latest project cruised down McHenry on Graffiti Night. Glenn is survived by his mother, Margaret Ellen Pearce; his brother, Ronnie Pearce, and Ronnie’s wife, Linda; his children, Allisun and Noah Pearce; his nieces and their spouses, Chenoa Sterling (Matt) and Whitney Gavrilas (Daniel); his nephew, Dirk Pearce; and several great-nieces and nephews. All of whom he loved deeply. He is predeceased by his father, Norman Glenn Pearce.
