David was born in Bakersfield, California on July 12, 1956 to Valentin C. Ferrel Sr and Eugenia C. Ferrel. He was the youngest of four sons. David was the ultimate definition of “one of a kind”. He was a fun loving and very compassionate man who left an everlasting impact on everyone he interacted with. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, give advice, and was always ready to crack some type of joke that would make everyone laugh. He was and forever will be a great man, dad, son, brother, grandpa, uncle, cousin, and friend.
David had a great character which was unique and unlike any other. He was the kind of man that would give you the shirt off his back, even his trademark yellow and Hawaiian shirts, without any questions asked. Many knew him as Dave The Chef (BBQ Master). He loved riding and working on bikes and building different projects in his garage; a jack of all trades. Whatever he was doing, he did it with a heart full of passion and always added lots of laughter. That is how he will always be remembered.
David was preceded in death by his father, Valentin C. Ferrel Sr., brother Valentin Ferrel Jr., and nephew Michael Ferrel Jr. He is survived by his mother, Eugenia C. Ferrel; brothers, Michael (Elvia) Ferrel Sr. and Jimmie Ferrel; his children, Andrea (Jorge) Gonzalez, David Ferrel Jr., Joseph Ferrel, Nicole Ferrel, Sheila (Asante) Duncan, and Anthony (Liza) Ferrel; and grandchildren, Valaree, Dominic, Jorge Jr., Rajan, Asante II, Micah, Amaia, David, and Janae.
