December 19,1941 - November 10, 2021
A true gentleman loved and respected by all.
With great sadness we share the news of the passing of our beloved Barry. We gratefully celebrate the blessing, joy and privilege of having him in all of our lives.
Barry lived a fulfilling life with many unique experiences and made lasting and meaningful relationships with family and friends who shared in his passions and adventures.
Turlock born, Barry was known as the kid who loved taking things apart and putting them back together with modifications and improvements.
"Bear" as he was affectionately known, learned the value of hard work at an early age working at his father's Standard Station. He joined the Air Force in 1962, launching his career in the Aerospace Industry. This fueled his life-long passion for electronics, engineering, and aviation. In the Air Force, Barry participated in a missile-testing program at Vandenberg. After his service, he continued working with General Electric as a civilian and flew out to Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands to collect and process missile data. He called it the "good life."
Barry later returned to Turlock to settle down and start a family
He was a partner in the old Penguin Ice Cream business and later joined Kirkes Electric Company. It was at Emanuel Medical Center where Barry met his second family. He immensely enjoyed the work and people at Emanuel until his retirement in 2003.
Barry worked hard but also enjoyed many hobbies including Go Kart and D Sport racing and he was an avid Formula 1 fan. Barry was a "doer," he built things. He was the "go to guy" always happy to share his knowledge of design and fabrication all while teaching those around him.
He was simply an amazing man, endeared in our hearts forever.
Born to Emerald Vincent and Bertha Friedrich, Barry is survived by his wife Teresa, daughter Kimberly Mattos (Joey), stepsons, Aaron and Dana Krueger, grandchildren Joseph, Landen, Ava, and Nolan Mattos and Isla Krueger, and brother James Vincent (Claire).
Funeral and graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 27th at 11 am at Lakewood Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Hughson, CA.
Remembrances can be sent in Barry’s honor to a local flight organization. EAA Chapter 90- In memory of Barry Vincent – 10706 Rawles Rd. Oakdale, CA 95361
