Antonio Galvez Jr. peacefully passed away from a brave fight against cancer on March 14, 2016 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Scenic General Hospital in Modesto, CA on September 1, 1957 to parents Antonio and Donna Galvez. Antonio had four younger siblings Melinda, Dolores, Jose and Ralph. As a child, he enjoyed basketball, boy scouts and collected baseball cards. After graduating from Modesto High School, he was in construction for 15 years in the Laborers Union Local 1130.
Antonio was a great friend to many people, some of the friends he grew up with were Larry Cardenas, Michael Wilson and Genaro Urquidez. He later become friends with Michael Taylor and George Tougas. Antonio enjoyed playing pool, horseshoes, watching football, collecting coins, playing video, going to the casino and most of all spending time with his family and friends. His favorite vacations were on the Mexican Riviera Cruise.
Antonio is survived by his companion Brenda Kaczmar, parents, siblings Melinda (David) Wheeler, Dolores (Greg) Ortiz, Joe (Toni) Galvez and Ralph Vera, children Roberto and Delilah Galvez, Amanda, Kayla and Nathan, grandchildren Jadie, Gage, Krystyna, Braydon, Madison, Hailey, Chandler, Atreyu and Jasper and many family and friends. He will be immensely missed by all those who love and know him.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm in the Heritage Chapel at Lakewood Funeral Home. Chapel service will begin at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 in the Heritage Chapel with burial to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
