Aaron Keith Ford passed from this life into glory on June 28th, 2024. Aaron was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Velta Ford. He was born in Ceres, CA on November 11th, 1966, the third of four children. He leaves behind his beautiful wife, Samantha, two amazing kids, Aaron Keith Ford Jr. (married to Jessica) and Elizabeth Glendon (Tony), siblings Allen Ford (Kim), Tammy Facey (John), Susan Reed (Kelly), and numerous nephews and nieces. Aaron graduated from Thomas Downey High School in 1985. Just two years later, Aaron married his lifelong love, Samantha on September 12th, 1987. On December 5, 2023, Aaron renewed his vows to Samantha in Hawaii. Aaron worked for his dad and brother for many years in the roofing trade, before joining Hugon Construction for ten years as a home inspector, and then finally joining the City of Modesto as a building inspector for the remainder of his career. He was a lifelong Dodgers, Lakers, Cowboys, and Sooners fan.
Apart from the infinite love Aaron had for his family, he loved his savior, Jesus Christ, more than life. He completed an AA in Ministry from the Global Bible Institute, at the House, where he also ushered, and he went on to serve in ministry at The Carpenter’s House. Aaron also served on a mission trip to Russia, and he was overjoyed to visit Israel and see the birthplace of Christ. Like Jesus, Aaron’s greatest service occurred well beyond the walls of any church. He was a passionate servant of Jesus, taking the Word into people's lives wherever they were. He genuinely loved to serve people, whether it was feeding the homeless, praying for the broken, listening to the disheartened, or just being with people when they needed someone.
The Apostle Paul wrote, “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” Aaron lived this passage each and everyday of his life, bringing the good news to a world in need of hope. May those of us who have been lifted up by Aaron’s love continue his work by displaying the same love and compassion he demonstrated.
A memorial is scheduled for 10am on July 20th, 2024 at Shelter Cove Church in Modesto, CA, with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Aaron’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Modesto Gospel Mission: https://www.mymission.org/donate.
