Yvonne “DeeDee” Eubank Porter, age 92, of Houston passed away peacefully on Friday, the 14th of July 2017. Yvonne was born in Kosse, Texas on the 12th of October 1924, to Everett Llewellyn and Clady Gidden.
Yvonne graduated from San Jacinto High School in Houston and attended Baylor University for two years. She married “the love of her life” F W “Chuck “Eubank in 1945 and remained married until his passing in 1980. She later married her “second love of her life” Regal Porter in 1983 and remained married until his passing in 2000. Yvonne was full of life and she adored her family. She was a lifelong member of Second Baptist Church in Houston and belonged to the “Encourager Class”
She is preceded in death by her parents; two wonderful and adoring husbands F W “Chuck” Eubank and Regal Porter; daughter, Yvonne Eubank Herndon; sister, Edna Gidden Hammond and brother, E W “Sonny” Gidden. She is survived by her son, James F Eubank II and wife Reda; grandchildren Heather Howard and husband Billy, Lindsey Cela and husband Steve, James F Eubank III, Hollie Landrith and husband Matt and Charles W Janke II and wife Heather , ten adoring great grandchildren Conley, Lily and Lila Howard, Catherine, Sophie, and Sarah Cela, Elizabeth and Jaqueline Landrith, Hannah and Trip Janke, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family wishes to acknowledge the compassionate care provided by Marsha Sparks, Litchie Jones, Beverly Simon and Tonya Christophe. They provided very good and loving care of Yvonne for the last 8 years.
The memorial service is to be conducted at one o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, the 25th of July, in the Hankamer Chapel at Second Baptist Church, 6400 Woodway Drive in Houston. Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception to be held in the nearby Deacons' Parlor.
Prior to the memorial service, the family will have gathered for a private interment at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston.
In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be directed towards the charity of one’s choice.
