Rick graduated from Sam Houston High School and studied drafting and design at SW Business University. He then served in the United States Air Force for four years. Upon completion, he went to work for 3M. While making a service call, he met his future wife, Fran. After a "long" courtship of three months, they were married and began their life together of 57 years. Their first home was built in Aldine. Then, they moved to Missouri City for six years. While there, they spent as much time as possible going camping and fishing in Livingston. It became clear that the country was where they wanted to be. They have lived in New Caney ever since.
Rick's passion was classic cars. Later in life, he was able to follow that passion, having numerous vehicles to tinker with and sell. It was during this time that he was able to follow another dream. He became a drummer and had some of the happiest years of his life.
A memorial service for Rick will be held Monday, May 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to The American Lung Association or the Montgomery County Animal Shelter.
