Wilson Awariso Ikechukwu (Ike) Itive was a sophisticated, kind, caring dad who loved to banter with everyone he came in contact with. He was tough on the outside and soft on the inside. Wilson was born January 8,1955 in Lagos, Nigeria to his dad the late Captain John Germani Itive and mom the late Eunice Okuku John-Itive. He is number five out of his ten siblings.
Wilson attended St. Finbarr’s College in Lagos, Nigeria where he was one of the finest footballers. His most known slogan was “second best defender to Goddy Odiyel”. Wilson came to America in the 80’s and attended Texas Southern University where he studied Criminology in Houston, TX.
He was widowed by the late Rose Adams-Itive in 2017. Wilson was survived by his son Wilson D. Itive, his daughter Princess E. Travis, son-in-law Jarrod Travis; nine step children; Chivonne Adams, Tierra Adams (deceased) Lacreisha Bob Sacreisha Bob, Alexis Bob, Brandon Bob, Bradley Bob, Crystal Bob and Chioma Igwe. There are three grandchildren, seven additional grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Wilson also left behind three brothers and eight sisters abroad. He leaves behind an indelible mark on all who knew him, but especially his family. He loved his family and loved being the life of the party. We greatly appreciate that we have been chosen to be apart of his journey on this side of heaven. We grieve at our loss but rejoice in assurance that we will be reunited again one day in glory!
