Willie Mae Jones

Mae and her family moved to Houston, TX at an early age. Mae attended Houston Independent School District Public Schools and graduated from Kashmere High School (Class of 1965).

Mae was a skilled Seamstress, Caterer, and Event Planner. She also had the opportunity to manage multiple Lounges in the Houston area and owned Club Robbie’s until 1992.

Mae met and married the late Izeal Jones of Colfax, La. During this union, three sons were born. Anthony “Tony”, Cedric “Ced” & Marvin “Junior”. Mae spent many years loving her children unconditionally and the children she met in her community. She enjoyed watching her boys play little league football for the South Main Mustangs. She was also involved in the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at Shadydale Elementary School. She loved music and dance, her children became very involved with the nationally known Shadydale Drill Team and Drumline. She served the team in many capacities, by marching in parades with them and even creating the uniforms they would later perform in.

Mae is preceded in death by her parents Willie Nelson and Ethel Lee Russell, her son Cedric Bernard Jones, her husband, Izeal Jones, and her sister- cousin, Kermit Faye Sheffield.

Willie Mae Jones leaves to cherish her memories and legacy: her loving and devoted sons Anthony “Tony” Jones and Marvin “Junior” Watts, Jr; loving grandchildren, Quiston De’Andre Watson “Lil Ced”, Averi Jones, and Kash Watts. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.

All services will be held Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
