Monday, September 8, 1933, a son was born to the the late Willie James and Elnora Beatrice James in Fort Bend County. They named their handsome son, Willie James Jr., after his proud father. He confessed to Christ at an early age at St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Brookshire, Texas. Willie was blessed with six children, which were his pride and joy. He was married to his loyal and faithful wife Mildred, for over 20 years.
Willie was an excellent family provider who always took care of family and friends. He would be there for you whenever you needed him and would give you his last. Willie was a dedicated and hard worker throughout his life. He was the owner of his own businesses including, James Construction. He also worked on the railroad and for several other companies, including J.L. William’s Constructions and Mickie Service Company for over 25 years. After retiring, Willie loved visiting and spending time with his family and friends, even if it was just talking on the phone. He had a real passion and knack for gardening and farming in his free time.
On April 4, 2024, God called Willie to a new home where there is no more pain or suffering. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Elnora James; daughter, Beatrice James Aruya; sisters, Beulah, Delores, Eleanor Mae, Flossie, Vesta Mae, Willie Mae; brothers, James, Leroy, Samuel, Walter Charles; and great-grandchildren, Tevis and Xavier.
Willie will be missed by his devoted wife, Mildred James; his loving five children; Maggie Allen, Willie Lean Scott, Jo Ann Grice, Willie James III, Michael Ray James; three step-children, Mildred Wyatt, Gene Wyatt and Monica Chandler; ten grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren, one step-grandchild and a host of treasured nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
