On April 27, 1927, Willie Lee Camall (name at birth: James Edward Carroll), was born to the proud parents of Anne Lee and Willie Carroll in Crowville, Louisiana. He would grow to be tall in stature and in the ambitions for his life and he did not let being from a small town or having a limited education stop him from obtaining his goals. Although he would hold numerous jobs, there was one particular passion that grew to be his career and that was being a truck driver. This was an occupation that proved to be his calling in life. He truly embraced being on the open road and traveling from coast to coast, and he absolutely knew the best truck stops and dinners in any city or state he had to roll through. Willie did slow down long enough to have a family. His first marriage was with Everliner McLaurin, they resided in Monroe, Louisiana and to their union they would have one son and four daughters of their own and he became the adopted father to Everliner's first daughter. Later he re-married Leola Hicks and relocated to Houston, Texas, which would be his home for the remainder of his days, and together he and Leola would have one child, Kenneth E. Camall. Willie is preceded in death by his mother and father, his brothers: Calvin, Ruther, & Reginald Carroll, his sisters: Lillie Jewel Loring & Evelyn Hill, and his daughters: Mary Lee Brown and Jacqueline Smith. He will be missed by his wife, his sister Willie Jewel Cotton, his sons: Willie E. Carroll (Pattie) & Kenneth E. Camall (Iris), his daughters: Francine J. Gibson (Lee), Shirley F. Fairley (Donald), Marjorie L. Rattler (Juan), his step-daughter Deborah A. Williams, and a host of other stepchildren, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. It would be on June 11, 2015, that the Lord needed a special driver to deliver a special load so He called on Willie Lee Camall to make one last road trip on a highway paved with goldnever to be stopped anymore.
