A Memorial Service for William “Scott” Worthington, 57, resident of Pattison, TX, will be held Sept 29th at 10:00 am at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Scott passed away suddenly September 25, 2010. He was born November 23, 1952 in Boise, ID to William Robert and Arlene Worthington. He graduated from Capital High in 1971 and received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Idaho in 1979. He married Angela Martin of Idaho Falls on August 26, 1978. Scott relocated to the Memorial area of Houston in 1988 and moved to Pattison in 2005. He was employed by Mustang Engineering in Houston, TX at the time of his death.
Scott grew up hunting and fishing in Idaho with his father and grandfather and passed on his passion for the outdoors to his son Clint. He spent many happy hours floating the rivers with a fly-rod in hand. He began restoring automobiles as a teen and perfected his skills with each project culminating in a beloved 1964 Porsche Cabriolet. He began building a Rotor-Way Exec 90 helicopter in his Memorial area garage in 2003 and moved his expanding project further west to Waller County where it was completed in 2006. He enjoyed flying on weekends with family and friends. Scott’s greatest joy was spending time with his three grandchildren.
Scott was a member of Pattison United Methodist Church. He was active in Experimental Aircraft Association of Brookshire and a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
Scott is survived by his wife, Angela; son Clinton and wife Sarah Worthington of Star, ID; daughters Alexis and husband Michael Muench Jr. of Houston, TX and Arica and husband Trent Black of Lubbock, TX. Survivors also include grandchildren, Lucas and Emma Worthington and Julia Muench; mother, Arlene Worthington of Garden City, ID; sister Cinda and husband Jim Volger of Garden City, ID; brother Jon Worthington and partner Bryan Houlette of Tulsa, OK; and sister Janice Worthington also of Garden City, ID.
Interment will be at Dry Creek Cemetery in Boise, ID. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pattison United Methodist Church in Pattison, TX.
