

William Wade Turnage, 74, passed away March 22, 2016 in Houston, TX. He was born in Alexandria, LA on June 20, 1941. William attended St. Francis Xavier Elementary school and graduated from Bolton State High School in 1959. He later attended Louisiana State University. He was married to Edna Sherlene Worstell for 5 years. William was also a member of the United States Navy, Air- Submarine Squadron 29, and served in viet-nam. He had a career as an Electronic Technician, retiring from Drilx in Houston. He enjoyed watching football, professional, college, and URL, and he also enjoyed traveling in and out of the country. Wade was a very hard working dedicated, problem solving individual. Always willing to lend a hand whether it be a mental or physical task. He was always looking at ways to eliminate waste or extra costs and liked to help others in doing so as well. He was a voracious reader (books, newspapers, etc.). He was extremely smart and educated, always studying even up to his last days. He always kept his word no matter what. William served as President of his Housing Association and was very dedicated and proud to do so. Wade loved his mother very much and took care of her up to her passing. Wade was a straight shooter and you knew if he liked you or didn’t.
William is survived by his son Eric Brian Turnage, grandchildren Brian Turnage, Olivia Turnage, and Bronson Turnage, and his two siblings George Turnage and Chris Risher.
A visitation will be held in memory of William Turnage Friday, March 25, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home with Funeral Services following Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 10:30 am. Interment at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery will follow funeral services.
