His path began on June 12, 1921 in Jackson, Mississippi, where he was born to the late Arthur and Berta Thurman. He was the oldest of ten children, the late Edgar, Frank (Jeff), Arthur, Estella Sneed, Elizabeth Clark, Late Lu Bertha, AT, James, Lue Bertha Thurman and Leon Thurman.
Henry joined the military, later in life, where he was very courageous and fought in World War II.
As a young man on his journey, he united in holy matrimony to the late Marguerite Brown Thurman, where six children were united.
After the death of Marguerite, he wed the late Dorothy Williams Thurman, where three stepchildren and one adopted daughter became a family.
He was a kind, friendly and socially confident. He loved fishing and enjoying his family and friends.
He is survived by his children Yvette (Isiah) Riley, Marguerite (Clinton) Hornsby, William Henry (Jeanette) Thurman Jr. The late Wilfred Moore, Ora Mae Baker, Titus Brown, adopted daughter Lakeisha M. Thurman, Stepchildren, Laney R. (April) Williams, Dianne Williams, Sherry (Albert) Wilkerson and a host of brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.
