William Jack Sadler, Sr. (Jack) was born in Sayre, Oklahoma on May 1st, 1932. He was raised in Oklahoma; graduated from Classen High School of Oklahoma City; earned his Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering at the University of Oklahoma; served in the US Air Force as an instructor pilot; and then worked in technical sales, the restaurant business, the oilfield “mud” business and after his retirement in 1996, he worked part-time as a recording engineer in Houston, Texas.
Jack also lived in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Atlanta, Georgia, and finally moved to Houston in 1985 where he remained until he died from sudden heart failure on May 8th, 2015- a happy and highly active 83 year old. Jack was a long time choir member (most recently at Northwoods Presbyterian Church); played the guitar for 70 years; was an amateur photographer; performed in many plays; and sang at retirement centers/nursing homes with the Friendship Singers. He leaves a wife, Donna Mason Sadler, one stepson, Kevin Mason, and one son, William Jack Sadler, Jr. (Bill). Smilin Jack will be long remembered for his joyful, easygoing nature and his zest for living.
There will be a memorial service at Northwoods Presbyterian Church at 3320 Cypress Creek Parkway on Saturday, May 16th at 11:00 am. Donations to the Northwoods Presbyterian Church music program will be appreciated in lieu of flowers and/or gifts.
