Billy was preceded in death by his parents, William F. Quast II and Myrtle V. Morris; wife, Claire "Pickey" L. Quast; and brother, Morris L. Quast.
He was raised in The Heights and graduated from Reagan High School in 1950. Shortly after graduation he met the love of his life, Claire, and they later married on August 8th, 1952 in Houston, Texas.
He attended the University of Houston where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
He and Claire made their home in El Paso, Texas during Billy's military service with the United States Army and eventually moved back to Houston in 1956.
Billy's career with AMOCO took them to Dallas, Texas, where in 1963 they adopted their son Jimmy. He and his family were transferred to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where they resided for 18 years. Upon his retirement in 1988, they returned home to Houston.
He enjoyed taking part in many activities with friends and family, such as; hunting at his ranch, frequenting casinos, and attending both gun and coin shows.
He is survived by his son William "Jim" J. Quast; granddaughters, Meagan Kelley and husband Chris, Jessica Szabo and husband Jonathan; great-granddaughters, Alyvia and Layth; brother, Mike Quast and wife Ava; and many other friends and family.
On behalf of Billy, his surviving family members would like to express exceptional gratitude for the loving care and attention his son, Jimmy, dedicated to his father throughout his later life and, above all, in his final weeks.
Billy will be carried to his final resting place by Brian Hicks, Chris Kelley, Chuck McGowan, Mike Quast Jr., Marco Rubalcaba, and Jonathan Szabo.
A visitation for William will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. A funeral service will occur Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. A committal service will occur Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060.
