William Russell Pryor

William Russell Pryor, died peacefully surrounded by his family at home on Tuesday, August 31, 2010. He was born on August 13, 1926, in Gloster, Mississippi. A long time resident of Houston, he attended Tarleton State and The University of Houston, after an honorable discharge from the U S Air Force in 1945. He was a commercial real estate broker involved in land development and mineral exploration and former president of PS & G Gas Co.,Inc. He was a principal organizer and helped in the early growth of the Harris County Republican Party. He was elected as a delegate to state and national conventions, served on the Republican Party Executive Committee and worked for the election of Republican Candidates at the local and national level. He is survived by his brother Jack Pryor of Jackson, MS; sister, Gwen Pryor of Houston; and his children Craig, Melissa, Priscilla, Kimberly, Allyson and their families. He was preceded in death by his wife, the Hon. Molly A. Pryor, former Harris County Clerk.
