He served his country as an infantry Sargent during WWII inn the Philippines, graduated from Texas A&M on the GI Bill, and went on to become a Captain and CO in the Army Corps of Engineers. He became the Executive Vice President of Aggregate Plant Products Corp., and was the 1969 President of the Houston Aggie Club.
He was a member of the Shriners, and a volunteer at SEARCH for the Homeless, where he assisted with the acquisition and donation of property to feed and help get persons who had gone through misfortune back on their feet.
He leaves behind his loving wife Dolores of 67 years, and his son Thomas William Plagens. He was preceded in death by his father Anthony Plagens, his mother Dora Plagens, and his daughter Deborah Plagens.
There will be a visitation service, and reception at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023 this Saturday, June 8, 2019 at one o'clock.
