Bill served in WWII, The Korean War and in Vietnam. He retired as Navy Chief Machinist Mate after 22 years service.
In his later years he owned the 4B Ranch in Harwood, Texas. He raised Cashmere Goats and was a past member of the Texas Cashmere Association. He won numerous awards at the Texas State Fair for his goats. He also spent time crocheting afghans for many of his family members and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife of over 58 years, Betty Nagel; grandson, Nicholas Nagel and siblings Richard Nagel and Eunice Fredrichs. He is survived by one sister, Marilyn Clepper; two sons, Buddy and Bobby Nagel and their wives and children which include Kim Nagel, Annette Nagel, Brittony, Amanda, Matthew, Nathan and Kate.
A visitation will be held at 1PM, Saturday May 28, 2016, followed by a funeral service at 2PM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, Texas 77077. Interment will follow on Tuesday May 31, 2016 at 1PM at Houston National Cemetery.
