Born in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, Bill considered himself a Texan. He attended Braeburn Elementary, Jane Long Jr. High and graduated from Bellaire High School in 1967. He attended Sam Houston State University where he was a member of Sigma Phi Episilon fraternity and received his degree from Cal State Fullerton.
During his career in the domestic and international water valve industry, Bill took charge as Executive Vice President and then President and COO of Muesco, Inc., the company founded by his father William Henry. Through acquisition Bill assumed the position of President of Watts Regulator Company’s Automatic Valve Division. He later co-founded MIVCO, Inc., an international marketing management company where his accomplishments were recognized with the President’s E Award for Excellence from the United States Department of Commerce. Following MIVCO Bill was named Vice President and General Manager of Watts Water Technologies, Inc. Houston Operations where in 2003 he received the Life Membership Award of the American Waterworks Association. He also served on the University of Houston College of Technology Advisory Board.
Bill was a well-accomplished businessman and leader. His career took him across the country and around the world. His travels led to business relationships that turned into prized friendships. His family always remained his first priority and he was known for having a PhD in fun. He was a loving son and husband, proud father and grandfather, a big and little brother, brother-in-law, uncle, trusted friend, mentor, and a big influence on many lives. His laugh was big, his commentary was priceless and his presence was always a warm welcome.
Bill is preceded in death by his father, William Henry, sister JoAnn Henry and brother James Henry. He is survived by his mother Dorothy Henry of Houston; his high school sweetheart and wife of 47 years, Sue Henry, of Sugar Land; daughter Sandy Morgan (Sheldon) of Santa Clarita, California; son Ron Henry (Kim) of Sugar Land; daughter Kelley Tester (TJ) of Ohio; grandchildren Zachary, Ty, Preston and Grace, along with nieces and nephews, extended family and close friends who will forever hold Bill in their hearts.
The family would like to acknowledge Optimum Personal Care in Stafford, Texas, for the superior care and attention they provided to Bill.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, December 18 from 6:00-8:00 pm and a celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Saturday, December 19 at 3:00 pm at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home located at 13001 Katy Freeway in Houston, Texas.
