William F. Boswell, Bill, 89, passed away on August 29, 2013. He was born April 11, 1924, in Sour Lake, Texas. He was a graduate of Sour Lake High School, class of 1941. He went on to attend Lamar Jr. College in Beaumont, Texas, and worked in the Orange, Texas, shipyards.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Medical Corps from February 12, 1943, until December 25, 1945. He was a Distribution Manager with Montgomery Ward & Co. until his retirement in 1992.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, LaVerne, and survived by his loving children, Mike Boswell and wife Wanda, David Boswell and wife Sherry, Peggy Ekster and husband John, Andy Boswell and wife Donna, all of Houston, Texas, and Pat Boswell and wife Renata of League City, Texas; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was an active member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church since 1963, member of the Golden Youth, 55+ organization, Lodge 88 SPJST and an Honorary Life Member of Knights of Columbus.
He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be on Monday, September 2, 2013, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a Vigil/Rosary Service from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 4313 Mangum Road, Houston, Texas 77092, with Rev. Don Loftin, celebrant, on September 3, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow in the Garden of Gethsemani at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Ambrose Catholic Church building fund.
