Bill was born on the 12th of August 1936 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the first child of William Alexander Anderson and Elizabeth Rose Anderson. Bill’s youth was spent in a number of locales in the United States and he graduated from Lamar High School in Houston Texas in 1953. He was proud of his service in the National Guard and received an honorable discharge upon completion of his duties. Bill attended The University of Texas at Austin and received his engineering degree in 1959, the same year his daughter Elizabeth Katherene was born. He obtained his juris doctor from South Texas College of Law in 1964, the same year he was blessed by the birth of his son and namesake, William Kent Anderson Jr. Bill was also a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Shriners.
W.K. was greeted in heaven by his parents, his infant sister Jeanine Ruth, his Aunt Larona Clark and the mother of his children, Ora Katherine Anderson, all whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife and will be tremendously missed by his children, Beth (Michael) and Billy (Marjorie); his grandchildren, Dylan, Wyatt, William, Michaela and Katherine Elizabeth; his sister, Dr. Sharon Rose (Ray); his nieces and nephew; his brother, Ted Anderson (Cindy); his Katy cousins, Patti Mattiza and Sandra Robertson; and a host of special people he loved so dearly and was proud to call his friends.
Senior followed the adage of Abraham Lincoln that it is not the years in your life that matter, it’s the life in your years. He lived large and he loved large. We will miss his presence in our lives and will strive to keep living up!
