Wilburn G Schroeder

He was surrounded by his loving family and friends as he flew into Heaven. Bill was born on May 18, 1929 to Wilhelm and Hulda Schroeder in LaGrange, Texas. He graduated from LaGrange High School, joined the military and was honorably discharged from The Air Force after serving his country.

In 1948, he married Hazel Hardee with whom he enjoyed a life full of dancing, traveling, and raising three children. Bill was an expert in bookkeeping and accounting. He always kept busy providing for his family, remodeling his home, and gardening. He taught his grandchildren how to hunt, fish and drive tractors. He was a great friend and loving man who trusted everyone.

In 1995, he was blessed to marry Karen Ann Horton, who loved and cared for him the last 17 years of his life and was lovingly by his side when he was called to Heaven. Bill and Karen built a wonderful life together traveling to the Wurstfest in NewBraunfels, visiting their grandchildren and gardening at the home they built together on Three Pines Drive. Bill was a member of St. John’s Lutheran in Waller, TX, and a Shriner.

He is survived by his wife Karen Ann Horton; son Michael and wife JoAnn; son Ronald and wife Ann; stepson Darroll Hardee and wife Lynn; stepdaughter Terri Romere and husband Bill; grandson Brian Schroeder and wife Angela; grandson Pat Schroeder and wife Christi; grandchildren Stephanie Jenkins, Ashley and Renee Schroeder, Meghan and Matthew Romere, Madison and Christin Hardee, Heston and Hannah Hardee, Hailee Hardee Ludwig; great-grandchildren Kailey and Lindsey Schroeder, Dylan Jenkins, Alexander and Zoe Schroeder, Conner Schroeder; and sister Junell Van Horn and husband Frank.

Bill is preceded in death by first wife Hazel V. Hardee Schroeder, daughter Nancy Schroeder Stapleton, and stepson Brian Hardee.
