Long time Houston resident Wenton E. Little, passed away January 26, 2012, at his home in Bellville, Texas. He was born January 4, 1916, in Milam County, Texas to Sam E. Little and Clara Yoe Little. Preceeding him to be with our Lord and Savior were his parents, 2 brothers, Jarvis Little and Larry Little, and his 1st wife, Helen McKim Little.
He is survived by his 2nd wife, Johnnie Richie Little, who has been and continues to be his most wonderful gift and blessing to our family. He is further survived by his son, J.M. Little and daughter-in-law Paula, of Bellville, Texas; his daughter, Elizabeth Little Griffin of Houston, Texas; grandchildren Melissa Whatley, Ruth Ann Biggs, Karen Taylor, Bonnie Griffin, Amy Hansen, Vanessa Wallace and Bradley Little, as well as 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
W.E. Little was a long-time distributor for The Houston Chronicle, starting with the newspaper as a paper boy in the 6th Ward and eventually becoming the distributor for the Spring Branch Memorial area. He gave hundreds of young men, including his son, their first job.
W.E. Little was a subdivision developer in Spring Branch, Cypress and the 1960 area and southern Montgomery County. While he accomplished many things, the true stars in his crown were his devotion to our mother, Helen Little, his devotion to his wife, Johnnie Richie Little and his long-time service as a Deacon at Westview Baptist Church in Houston, where he came to know Jesus.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 30, 2012, with visitation one hour before in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Eartherman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024. Interment immediately following at Woodlawn Cemetery. A reception in celebration of his life will follow the interment at a location to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brazos Valley Hospice.
