He was a longtime resident of Houston, Texas and a former Manager with Texaco Inc. He earned his undergraduate degree from Union College in Kentucky in 1952, and was a graduate of the University of Kentucky Law School in 1955. He was a Mason and a faithful member of Champions Forest Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School. He loved working in his workshop, hunting, and golfing.
He was the son of the late William Samuel Williams and Viola Safriet Williams of Barbourville, Kentucky. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Martha Blair Williams, his daughter Cynthia Lynne Atkins and husband Robert Atkins of Houston, Texas, his son Wendell Stanton Williams and wife Julie Williams of Fulshear, Texas, his grandchildren Robert Blake Atkins, Christopher Scott Atkins and his wife Bailey, and Wesley Stanton Williams and his wife Dagny, and Lauren Elizabeth Williams, and his great-grandson Owen Robert Atkins.
A celebration of life for Wendell will be held Monday, March 21, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Champion Forest Baptist Church, 15555 Stuebner Airline Rd., Houston, Texas 77069, followed by a reception at 2:00 PM.
