Weldon Leon McAdams was born on March 13, 1944 in Shepherd, Texas to John and Ila McAdams. He was the 13th of 14 children. He graduated from Shepherd High School in 1962. After graduation he began a career as a switchman at Houston Belt and Terminal Railroad then retired from Union Pacific Railroad and retired in 2004 after serving for 40 years. He married the love of his life, Linda Sample on October 22, 1988 at Memorial Baptist Church Houston, TX.
Weldon’s family describes him as prankster, family man, loved to laugh, loving, kind, and a hard worker. His hobbies included gardening and building bird houses.
Weldon was preceded in death by his Mother, Ila McAdams; his Father, John McAdams; Brothers, Thurman McAdams, Louie McAdams, Kenneth McAdams, Don McAdams, and Richard McAdams; Sisters, Loette Loftin, and Kathryn Nickell; sons, Stephen McAdams and Eric Sample.
Weldon is survived by, Sisters, Bonnie Smith, and Linda Plant and Husband Gary; Brother Charles McAdams spouse Pat; his Son Jason Sample and Spouse Shaina; Grandson, Eric James-Wayne Sample, and Miguel Valencia; and Granddaughter, Elisia Valencia; and his numerous nieces and nephews and cousins survive him.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Don McAdams, Miguel Valencia, Craig Ramos, Scott Belus, Anthony Baldwin, Ben Maxwell.
Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be James McAdams and Elisia Valencia.
