Robert Wayne Townsend, Sr. born March 5, 1947 to Oscar and Frances Ocker Townsend in Houston, Texas, passed away November 6, 2011 in Richmond, Texas.
Wayne is survived by his only son, 1LT Robert Townsend, Jr., his wife Melanie, and five grandchildren; his sister Mary Frances Townsend; and his best friend and brother-in-law Robert Brown.
The family will receive friends at a memorial visitation from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Heights Funeral Home.
The family respectfully requests no flowers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a memorial fund for a marker and scholarship at the Ex-Students Association of The University of Texas at Austin.
