Wayne Eugene Romoser of Houston, TX passed away on February 20, 2011, at the age of 83. He was born in Eureka, MO on December 9, 1927 to Vern Clifford & Mamie Anne, the fifth of nine children. Wayne attended Jeff Davis High School, class of 1947. He married his high school sweetheart, Jackie Lou Emmet, on August 18, 1948 at Third Presbyterian Church in Houston. Wayne and Jackie resided in Houston’s ‘North-side’ for the majority of their 62 years together. They are the owners of M&M Auto Supply in Aldine, TX. Wayne contributed greatly to the North-side & Aldine communities. He was active in North Side National Little League for many years, serving as coach and as president. Wayne was also very involved in the Aldine Noon Optimist Club. He served as President in 1984-1985 and was given the “Optimist of the Year” award in 1991. Through his Optimist work, he helped found the C.H.I.C.K.E.N. Club in Aldine elementary schools and was a big supporter of P.D.A.P. in Aldine I.S.D. Wayne and Jackie are active members of Advent Presbyterian Church in Spring, TX. Wayne greatly enjoyed playing golf, hunting, vacations in New Braunfels, and spending time with family & friends at his house on Lake Livingston. Wayne is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jackie; children: Russell Romoser & wife Glenna of Tulsa, OK, Judy Duke & husband Charlie of Huffman, TX, Melinda Dye of Spring, TX. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren: Amanda Dawson & husband Aaron, Charlie Duke & wife Megan, Angela Romoser, Elizabeth Johnson & husband Tommy, Meridith Dannenbaum & husband Joe, Garrett Dye; great grandchildren: Sarah & Olivia Johnsonm, Lainey Duke; sisters: Mary Frances Matranga & Pauline Buckner. Visitation will be from 5-8PM on Wednesday, February 23rd. A celebration of life will be at 12:30PM on Thursday, February 24th at Brookside Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Brookside Memorial Park.
