Tim was born to Ralph Warren Sexton and Joan Hamblen Sexton on August 31, 1960, in Houston, Texas. He graduated from W.T. White High School, class of 1978 and received a Petroleum Engineering degree from Texas A&M University in 1982 and later his MBA also at A&M. He married Dee Dee Keener Sexton in 2017 and they lived together in Houston, Texas.
Tim’s first marriage was to Tineke Berends, they shared two children, Nienke Josephine Sexton of Houston, Texas and Timothy Ian Sexton of Bryan, Texas.
Tim is survived by: Dee Dee Sexton, Nienke Sexton, Timothy Ian Sexton; mother, Mrs. Joan H. Sexton of Dallas, Texas; sister, J. Ellen Guiling and husband Doug of Dallas, Texas; brother, Scott H. Sexton of Austin, Texas; stepson’s, Aaron Keener and wife Karen of Roy, Utah, Matthew Keener and ex-wife Amber Keener of Coppell, Texas; step grandchildren, Devon Keener, Michael Keener, Audrey Keener, Carter Keener, Kimbel Keener and Junah Keener. He also leaves to cherish his memory nieces, Jenny Cho and husband Andy, Rebecca Guiling, Joanie Barnes and husband Reid and their families; sister-in-law’s Toni Waldrep and husband David, Terrie Thrasher and husband Wesley, and brother-in-law Shannon Keener and their families. As well as many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Warren Sexton; paternal grandparents, Laurence and Mary Sexton; maternal grandparents, Jake and Lillie Marie Hamblen.
Tim was an independent oil and gas producer and investor for his own company, Shore Energy, LP for 20 years. He enjoyed travelling, music, concerts, golfing, playing cards, swimming, diving, and gardening, especially orchid growing. Tim was also an avid “Dead Head” a big lover of the music from the band, The Grateful Dead.
A visitation for Warren will be held Tuesday, June 20, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, June 21, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023 with rite of committal to immediately follow.
