He graduated from Regan High School, the University of Houston, and he continued his higher learning at Penn State University. Mr. Harvey was a 32nd degree Mason for over 50 years. He was a Korean War veteran and served on the Coast Guard Cutter Mendota in the North Atlantic. He retired from the oil and gas business. He loved to fish and was a lifelong stamp collector from the time he was little.
His proudest moment in life was May 17, 2006 when his grandson, Nicholas, was born. He thought Nick, “the little boy,” hung the moon. He loved him and looked forward to seeing him more than anything.
He is survived by his children, Christie Harvey Malmberg and husband Mike, Genevieve Ann Harvey, and Rusty Harvey and wife Debi; his grandchildren, Nicholas Harvey and Ben, Thomas and Racheal Malmberg; and his sister, Sharon Wallace.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Genevieve "Bubbles" Harvey, and his goddaughter, Susan Rawley Thomson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Brookside Funeral Home-Cypress Creek from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 10:00 am with a graveside service to follow at Brookside Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Troy Wenzel, Donnie Isenberg, Russell Stoddard, Trey Wenzel, Cole Bradshaw, Johnny Wallace, Sam Bradshaw and Claude Deasy with Edward Rawley and Nicholas Harvey serving as honorary pallbearers.
