departed this life to be with his heavenly father on 2-23-2023 surrounded by family.
Warren was born in Murray Utah on June 4th, 1939 to Warren W. Child SR and Carol Gunn. He is survived in death by his wife of 61 years Florence Child, 2 siblings Terry Gunn and Pam Zivait, 3 sons, Shane Child, Paul Child and Kendell Child, 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents and 1 son, Eugene Vardell Child.
Warren Graduated from Bountiful High School in 1956. He soon enlisted the the United States Air Force working in air traffic control. After enlisting he married his high school sweetheart, Florence. His Air Force career took him to Germany for 2 years where he and Florence had their first 2 sons. Warren was then transferred to Randolph Air Base in San Antonio, Texas. While in Texas sons 3 and 4 arrived. Warren soon supported the war efforts in Vietnam for 11 months. After his tour Warren was station at Malmstrom AFB in Great Falls Montana. Warren retired from the Air Force in 1977.
While in Montana he earned his bachelors degree in accounting from the College of Great Falls with a 4.0 average. During this time he worked for Continental Pipeline at their oil transfer depot. After graduating he was transferred to Roundup Montana to work in the oilfields as a gauger, Warren survived 8 long northern winters before being moved to Houston, Texas where he worked in oil movements for Conoco until his retirement in 1997.
Warren and Flo enjoyed many years of square dancing with their clubs, (Cypress Swingers and the Texas Spirit). Warren was and avid golfer. He spent many morning chasing that little white ball with his friends. Warren and Flo also traveled around the globe to experience life in its fullest.
One of Warrens greatest pleasures was serving the Lord on his mission to Chicago. Warren and Flo then served in the Houston Temple for several years. Warren's mental decline slowly robbed him of these activities.
Warren always had a warm smile and a generous hug. He was loved by many. He will be truly missed.
